Workshop: Businnes Logistics - Supply Chain

On October 19th., 21st. and 25th. and with the objective of training and improving our day-to-day management of Business Logistics and Supply Chain, we have developed three in-company workshops, with the participation of 40 employees from all areas.

They were given by the Chemical Engineer Eduardo Barreiro Ottieri, a recognized expert in the matter, Postgraduated Specialized in Marketing, Teacher, Consultant in Logistic Operations in many national and international companies, and currently, at the Ceibal Center and as Partner-Director of BaBel Consultores.

Based on making up a whole of the processes of Logistics and Supply Chain and trying to be more efficient and more adaptable, the topics dealt with were, among others:

• Business Logistics, concepts and objectives.

• Supply chain, concepts, description and analysis of our operations.

• The three laws of Logistics: to improve customer service levels,  to minimize inventory levels or to minimize operating costs.

• The five variables to consider: place, moment,  quantity,  quality and  documentation.

• Logistic Operators: definition, examples, description of the operation.

• Outsourcing of services: advantages and disadvantages

• Documentation and computer systems shared with the Logistic Operator.

• Measurement of service levels: OTIF (On Time - In Full) Index.
