Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections in Adult
Within the framework of the 5th Congress of Outpatient Medicine and Nutrition of the Southern Cone, it was also carried out a scientific activity called ‘Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections in Adult: What should be done?´, which was sponsored by Gramón Bagó.
The panel was made up of Marcela Zurmendi, M.D., post-graduated in Infectious Diseases, Fabio Grill, M.D., Director of the Infectious Diseases Unit of Maciel Hospital and Alvaro Huarte, M.D., Professor of Internal Medicine.
The importance of the topic was emphasized by its frequency in the consultation, the possible complications and the different diagnostic and therapeutic resources.
It was especially pointed out the use of Red Cranberry derivatives containing 36 mg of Proanthocyanidins (PAC) as a useful and proven adjuvant resource to antibiotic treatment in the acute stage and as a preventive in patients suffering from recurrent urinary tract infections.
