Each scored film-coated tablet contains: prucalopride 2 mg (as prucalopride succinate)
Therapeutic Action
Prucalopride is a selective, high-affinity serotonin (5-HT4) receptor agonist, which may explain its prokinetic effects. It stimulates proximal colonic motility, enhances gastroduodenal motility, and accelerates slow gastric emptying.
In addition, it induces high amplitude propagated contractionss (HAPCs) which are equivalent to human colonic mass movements and provide the primary propelling force for defecation.
