Indomethacin has a powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic action to determine a strong inhibition of the COX-1 enzyme and thus the synthesis of prostaglandins. Diazepam is a benzodiazepine that low dose determines a mild anxiolytic effect, situation frequently associated with painful symptoms.
Formula
Each suppository contains: indomethacin 100 mg; diazepam 5 mg.
Therapeutic Action
Indometacin suppositories are indicated for inflammatory diseases of the joints such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and degenerative hip disease; pain and stiffness in the backbone (ankylosing spondylitis); sprains and strains (acute muscle and bone disorders); lower back pain; pain and swelling following muscle or bone surgery; period pain; gout.
